Advice for the Treatment Coordinator (TC) – Be a goodwill ambassador to referring GPs. More than any other ortho team member, you can effectively demonstrate that your office supports the GP’s hygiene department. When visiting referring offices, introduce yourself, meet both the dentist and the hygienist, and explain your practice’s hygiene support program. For example, tell them that prior to placing bands, your ortho office sends the patient back to the GP’s office for a comprehensive hygiene appointment. Such statements will highlight the TC’s—and the ortho practice’s—dedication to patients.
