One-Day Rule – Contact patients when their account is one day overdue. Many people are financially stressed these days. So, before they incur fees, tell them about their payment options. This will make collection easier. If someone’s account is past due, contact that patient the very next day to collect. Your surgical practice cannot afford to let collections get out of hand. Be aware that the longer payment is overdue, the less likely the practice will be paid.
