Don’t try to be the “winner” all the time. When the team is brainstorming to solve a problem, by all means put your best thinking forward… but don’t become overly protective of your own ideas. Be open-minded. If someone else has a better idea than yours, be the first to say so. If someone changes your mind about something, acknowledge it. Actions like these will help eliminate any unproductive personal competitiveness.
