Be as specific as possible when speaking with parents and patients. Avoid statements, like “Come in around 2:00.” For parents and patients, this means that you have given them permission to show up sometime before or after the hour. Instead, provide them specific instructions, such as, “We would like to see you at 1:50 this Thursday.” This type of clear communication makes it easier for parents and patients to comply with your requests.
