Stand firm. There’s been a lot of discussion about what to do if a patient won’t cooperate with practice safety regulations. Our simple suggestion is simply to not see that patient. It’s not a political, ethical, or moral debate. It’s all about maintaining the safety of your patients, your coworkers, and yourself. Be polite but firm, and don’t get sucked into a debate that you cannot win.
